CAATCM members provide appropriate care to their clients to help them attain optimal health. CAATCM members take full responsibility for all the care they provide to their clients, and, where applicable, the care provided by those under their supervision. CAATCM members respect the privacy of their clients when care is given. CAATCM members protect their clients' confidentiality and the confidentiality of their health information. CAATCM members respect the individual needs and values of their clients. CAATCM members do not exploit their clients' vulnerabilities for their own interests or gains. CAATCM members actively participate in continuing education programs to update and broaden their knowledge base on ongoing developments in TCM and acupuncture. CAATCM members refer their clients to other appropriate health care provider when aspects of care required are beyond their level of competence. CAATCM members provide fair, accurate and objective information on TCM and acupuncture to the public. CAATCM members promote TCM and acupuncture and self-regulation by addressing such issues with the general public and with members of various levels of government. CAATCM members establish and maintain a safe work environment. CAATCM members, where applicable, provide responsible and respectful guidance to students of TCM and acupuncture for their professional development. CAATCM members conduct themselves in a courteous and caring manner.
