  • CAATCM members hold the health and well-being of their clients as a primary responsibility.
  • CAATCM members provide appropriate care to their clients to help them attain optimal health.
  • CAATCM members take full responsibility for all the care they provide to their clients, and, where applicable, the care provided by those under their supervision.
  • CAATCM members respect the privacy of their clients when care is given.
  • CAATCM members protect their clients' confidentiality and the confidentiality of their health information.
  • CAATCM members respect the individual needs and values of their clients.
  • CAATCM members do not exploit their clients' vulnerabilities for their own interests or gains.
  • CAATCM members actively participate in continuing education programs to update and broaden their knowledge base on ongoing developments in TCM and acupuncture.
  • CAATCM members refer their clients to other appropriate health care provider when aspects of care required are beyond their level of competence.
  • CAATCM members provide fair, accurate and objective information on TCM and acupuncture to the public.
  • CAATCM members promote TCM and acupuncture and self-regulation by addressing such issues with the general public and with members of various levels of government.
  • CAATCM members establish and maintain a safe work environment.
  • CAATCM members, where applicable, provide responsible and respectful guidance to students of TCM and acupuncture for their professional development.
  • CAATCM members conduct themselves in a courteous and caring manner.
